Atlona Technologies' new Mini DVI, model AT-DVIF20SR, (Sender and Receiver) is a low cost Fiber Optic HDMI extender. These extremely small form factor, UL/CE approved units will carry DVI video signal and HDCP/DDC information through a single multimode fiber allowing any HD source to extend signal up to 400m at WUXGA (1920x120 / 60Hz) or HDTV resolutions 1080p/1080i/720p. These balun units are equipped with advanced digital fiber optic technology allowing for self adjustment with no compression, bit reduction, or signal degradation. Multiple signals can be run in a single conduit without crosstalk. These CEC compliant units support 12-bit color depth and have an 8dB input equalizer, which compensates losses over 5m. ESD Protection on all I/O interfaces has been added to ensure quality assurance. With no power cord needed, quick and easy set up is as simple as plug and play.

Application: With use of Fiber Optics, rather than CAT, these US manufactured product is perfect for government and hospitals. Signal flow through Fiber will not interfere with medical equipment or power generators. In the case of government use, Fiber is more beneficial for security purposes. While CAT 5 can be spliced in order to extract information, Fiber cannot be interrupted, keeping information safe.
